About the Wines
Sawyer Lindquist Wines are a collaboration between Bob Lindquist and Louisa Sawyer Lindquist. Together, they craft a beautiful biodynamic Pinot Noir from Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard, a coastal Chardonnay from Spanish Springs Vineyard in Pismo Beach, as well a biodynamic Tempranillo-Syrah blend created for the wine club and tasting room. The wines all have a distinctive flair and reflect the balanced style of these two talented winemakers.
Our Story
A Pinot Noir Passion Project
When we planted the Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard in 2005, it was the year right after the movie “Sideways”, which really helped put Pinot Noir from our area on the map! The Edna Valley is best known for outstanding Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, so we decided to plant a small amount. Louisa and I both love Burgundy and the Pinot’s that we drink often from Au Bon Climat and our other colleagues in the Central Coast area. Since Pinot wasn’t part of the Verdad or Lindquist repertoire, we created a new label. The painting on the label was done by our son Theo when he was 9 years old, we thought it reflected the ethos of Biodynamic farming!
